The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has announced the deadline for all newly admitted students of the university to complete the payment of their Acceptance fees and registration.
According to the information made available by the management of the university, all newly admitted candidates are to accept their offer of admission and complete registration on or before January 26th, 2018.
All newly admitted candidates are therefore advised to ensure they pay their Acceptance Fees and complete their registration on or before the given deadline.

 This article is going to help you know how to calculate your jamb scores according to Jamb laid down system and to know the points of your score.

JAMB 2017/2018 GRADING SYSTEM FOR CANDIDATES

The first thing you need to know about the new grading system is that it consists of JAMB score and the score for NECO/WAESSCE. We are going to break it down, so pay attention.
First thing you need to do in order to get the final score is convert the score you got in JAMB exams into grade points. This is how it works:
1.If you score 180-185 on your exam, you get 20 points;
2.If you score 186-190 on your exam, you get 21 points;
3.If you score 191-195 on your exam, you get 22 points;
4.If you score 196-200 on your exam, you get 23 points;
5.If you score 201-205 on your exam, you get 24 points;
6.If you score 206-210 on your exam, you get 25 points;
7.If you score 211-215 on your exam, you get 26 points;
8.If you score 216-220 on your exam, you get 27 points;
9.If you score 221-225 on your exam, you get 28 points;
10.If you score 226-230 on your exam, you get 29 points;
11.If you score 231-235 on your exam, you get 30 points;
12.If you score 236-240 on your exam, you get 31 points;
13.If you score 241-245 on your exam, you get 32 points;
14.If you score 246-250 on your exam, you get 33 points;
15.If you score 251-300 on your exam, you get 34-43 points;
16.If you score 301-400 on your exam, you get 44-60 points.
Simple, isn’t it? But, as you might remember, there is a second part to this. You also need to calculate how many points you get from your NECO/WAEC exams. Here is how that system works:
1.If your exam results have all been achieved in a single sitting, then you are awarded 10 points;
2.If your exam results have been achieved in multiple sittings, then you are only awarded 2 points;
3.If you have scored an A1 (75-100%) in a subject, you get 6 points;
4.If you have scored a B2 (70-74%) or a B3 (65-60%) in a subject, you get 4 points;
5.If you have scored a C4 (60-64%), a C5 (55-59%) or a C6 (50-54%) in a subject, you get 3 points.
That is all there is to it. If all of these numbers and letters seem a little bit too confusing, continue reading to find out how all of this works on a hypothetical example.

HOW JAMB 2017/2018 GRADING SYSTEM FOR CANDIDATES WORKS

In order for you to understand how JAMB 2017-2018 grading system works, let’s review what we have learned about it on a simple example:
Imagine that a certain Nwankwo Azikiwe has scored 244 in his JAMB exam. This means that he gets 32 points. He managed to pass all of his WAEC subjects in one sitting, which means that he can add another 10 points to his score.
For Nwankwo to get into a university of his choice, he needs to have five O’level subjects. He scored an A1 in one of them (which is worth 6 points), a B2 and a B3 in two others (which are worth 8 points in total) and two C4 (which are worth 6 points in total). This means that he can add another 20 points to his score.
In the end, Nwankwo Azikiwe gets 32+10+20=62 points. Now, all that is left for him to do is wait until the university of his choice releases cut off marks, so that he can figure out whether he got in or not.

The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has released the First Batch of Admission List of candidates who applied for the National Diploma (Daily Part-Time) Programme of the Institution.
OSPOLY 2017/2018 PART-TIME ADMISSION LIST IS OUT
The names of the admitted candidates have been uploaded on the portal of the Polytechnic.
Candidates are to buy Notification of Admission card of N900 only at OSPOLY Microfinance Bank Iree to check their admission status and print the Notification of Admission letter.
Candidates are equally expected to pay the Acceptance Fee of N15,000 only at the aforementioned bank within the next two weeks.
Upon payment of the Acceptance Fees, the candidates are expected to go for the Screening Exercise at the Koko Campus of the Institution in Iree.

OSPOLY 2017/2018 PART-TIME ADMISSION LIST PUBLISHED

UNIBEN HAS BAN RELIGIOUS GROUPS AND FELLOWSHIP ON CAMPUS

The Student Affairs Division of the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria has revoked the registration of all fellowships and religious groups on campus with effect from 18th January 2018.
This is due to the unhealthy multiplicity of fellowships on campus and the use of lecture halls/classrooms/open fields for meetings on Sunday morning. New guidelines will be announced for re-registration of fellowships. Meanwhile, the following fellowships are NOT affected by the ban and can continue with their activities:

Students Christian Movement / Christian Union Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) and Scripture Union Campus Fellowship.

Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students.

Muslim Students Society of Nigeria.

1. All students should note that the approval for fellowship meetings in lecture halls, classrooms, fields, etc has been revoked with effect from 18th January 2018. Students have the privileges and rights to worship at the All Saints Chapel (interdenominational), St. Albert’s Catholic Church, and the Mosque for Muslims.

2. Any fellowship inviting any Preacher from outside the campus MUST get clearance and approval from the Management of the University through the Dean of Student Affairs.

3. Students who violate the rules and regulations of the University will not be treated with kid gloves as they will face the wrath of the law.

AKSU 2017/2018 FRESHERS AND DEFERRED STUDENTS REGISTRATION PROCESS

This is to inform All First year Students of the Akwa Ibom State University, AKSU and those who deferred admission in the 2016/2017 session are directed to go to their Faculties for screening and registration with the following documents:
(1) Acceptance fee and school fee receipts
(2) Original and photocopies of the result(s) tendered for admission
(3) On-line computer print-out of O’ Level Statements of Results (Note that Statements of Results from schools/institutions will not be accepted)
(4) 2017/2018 JAMB Admission Letter
(5) 2016/2017 JAMB Result
(6) Two (A) passport photographs
(7) All other credentials which were presented during the 2017/2018 Post-UTME screening exercise:
(a) Sworn Affidavit of Age Declaration/Birth Certificate
(b) Certificate of Origin (1) Reference letter from a person of good standing in the society
(8) Two file jackets

Please all first year students are to also note that, after the screening exercise at the faculty, the cleared students are to proceed to the department and get a list of courses for online registration at the ICT directorate.
