UNILAG 50th CONVOCATION begins ON FEB 19th : The university of Lagos (UNILAG) says it will begin its 50th convocation ceremonies for the 2016/2017 academic session on February 19.
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, disclosed this on the sidelines of the yearly interaction with newsmen, on Tuesday, in Lagos.
He, but, stated the four-day convocation sports which would stop on February 22 would be slightly adjusted, and would be different from those of the past.
“This time, we will make a few adjustments and introduce a few items to make the ceremonies active and memorable.
“for instance, the convocation venue will move from the usual multi-cause hall known as Jelili Omotola hall to the main auditorium known as Ade Ajayi hall.
“but we will soon come up with a line-up of events to kick-start the convocation.

“The occasions typically begin with a convocation media briefing, followed by the convocation lecture, among others,’’ the vice-chancellor stated.
Ogundipe explained that the university control would also ensure a re-branding of the institution, especially in the area of research, innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship.
